About Us

WANA strongly believes that in turbulent times, we are always better together.

Our main aim is to have conversations that help us know and communicate what's happening locally. With a strong voice, we engage with local councils and partners about the issues that impact us all. We also organize social events and activities for people of all ages.

Additionally, we work alongside and support those community groups and businesses at the heart of our community, namely Witherley Memorial Playing Field Trust, The Church and Parish Room, The Blue Lion, Witherley United Football Club, Friends of Witherley School, the WI. We collaborate with these organisations on arranging social events to enhance community cohesion and improve our lives.

Find the WANA Bee

Twelve sharp-eyed Junior WANA bees successfully found our Easter WANA Bee on the Easter Trail and were entered into a draw. The WANA Bee was buzzing high in the bough of a tree on the Playing field, here it is, under the watchful gaze of Robin.  Finding the Bee was not easy, so well done everyone.

The first name drawn out of the WANA Easter bonnet was Mimi, who won the grand prize. She can be seen in the photograph with her prize. Indie came in second place and received a chocolate bunny.  Congratulations to you both!

Thank you to all who participated in the fun!

Hayley won first prize in our competition for the best display on the Easter Trail.  Here is Hayley, photographed with Erin, receiving her prize.

Thank you to all those who took part in making the village look special this Easter.

Easter Trail

Remember you're a WANA Womble
SATURDAY, 16 MARCH

Twenty-nine WANA Wombles ventured out of the cosy burrow at the Parish Room.  Greeted by the sound of chirping birds in the warm spring sunshine, they sallied forth to womble and collect and sort the rubbish that unthinking humans drop in our villages.

Here is our very own 'Bongo', Jack, one of our youngest and cutest 'Junior WANA Bee' Wombles.

You can read more about the adventures of the WANA Wombles and the extraordinary items they collected.
