An Arts Council Grant was unsuccessful but other funding opportunities are being looked into. It would be amazing to be able to run community arts workshops and keep this place going - to showcase work to encourage more and more people to get involved. The overwhelming support from locals, not just artists, has been astonishing really, donations from well wishers include canvases for workshops, overalls, tea and coffee supplies, and even a carved sign to hang above the shop.... people can be so generous.... thankyou.
On a personal note from the joint Chair of WANA, Jacq: “one of the most heart warming things for me is to see children’s work on the walls and to talk about the art to the younger visitors.... its that sharing of knowledge and sense of discovery and questioning and maybe looking at things a little differently...”
Sadly, please be aware that the use of the building is subject to a months notice either from the occupants or the landlady - should she find someone to rent the building. We are hugely grateful to her altruism, without her generosity this would not be able to happen.
45 High Street Pershore is now open and WANA volunteers to help are always very welcome - please use the space as much as possible, it is yours and there is room to run workshops, meet up to paint or just bring your work down to be hung and maybe sold!
HUGE THANKS TO SUZI FROM PERSHORE MARKET TOWN PARTNERSHIP AND JENNY DAVIS, ARTS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER FOR THEIR SUPPORT... COULDN’T HAVE HAPPENED WITHOUT THEM.
From June 1st WANA took over 45 High St, Pershore as a place for its members to use as a gallery and workshop space.
