WANA | Together we make a difference

On Monday, 8th April, 34 residents participated in a practical training session in basic life saving skills, gaining invaluable knowledge and tips. In situations when medical services are on the way, a quick response from a member of the public trained in life-saving skills significantly increases the chances of survival for someone who is not breathing, is unconscious, or choking. The session included assessing dangers before approaching a casualty, resuscitation, CPR and instruction on using our valuable community defibrillators.

WANA would like to express immense gratitude to Anthony and Julia. Julia, a paramedic, and Anthony, an ambulance first responder, generously volunteered their own time to conduct this practical training session in basic life-saving skills.

Community Defibrillators: Training is not essential to be able to use a defibrillator because once activated, the equipment issues clear audio instructions. Emergency services give access to nearby defibrillator equipment once a 999 call is made. The defibrillator for Witherley is housed outside the Blue Lion Pub, in the archway leading from the car park. The defibrillator in Atterton is located beside the noticeboard and bench on Atterton Lane.
