Thanks to Heartsy, our mystery donor, WANA is very pleased to announce an emergency bleed Kit is available in Witherley village. The kit is registered with East Midlands Ambulance Services so that it is publicly accessible. It is installed inside the defibrillator cabinet situated at the junction of Hunt Lane with Kennel Lane. Dial 999 to access. This catastrophic bleed kit is easy to use, anyone can use it to help control and stop severe bleeding until medical help arrives.

Controlling blood loss before the paramedics arrive on the scene could be the difference between life and death. There are many ways for a catastrophic bleed to occur, including from a car accident or a home or work related injury.
The kit is an initiative of the Daniel Baird Foundation charity, named after Daniel, a young man who was the victim of a fatal stabbing. Check out the Daniel Baird Foundation here for more details about the charity.
