An afternoon tea was held on Saturday, 9th May at the Parish Rooms. The WANA Bees welcomed forty-nine guests to the hive for a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Visitors indulged in Prosecco, delicate finger sandwiches and sweet treats, served on fine china at beautifully set tables. The afternoon began with a compelling reading by Kim from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland—the (Mad) Hatter’s tea party, of course—followed later by an entertaining account of Atherstone’s hatting heritage, which traces its roots back to medieval times.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and to all those who helped make the event such a success—those who planned and prepared, baked and catered so professionally, served, and cleared away afterwards.
The event raised over £600 for local causes.
A lovely afternoon of tea, treats, Wonderland fun and local history.
