The Rural Community Council (RCC), is a 102 year old charity helping disadvantaged people and communities. The annual awards give opportunity to celebrate community action across rural Leicestershire & Rutland

Here's what the Judges said:

What began as a single consultation meeting in 2024 has grown into a structured community organisation with more than 40 active volunteers the WANA Bees, a regular programme of social activities, and a trusted presence in village life”. . . .
WANA’s purpose is simple: to give local people regular opportunities to connect, take part, feel supported, and help shape the future of their community.  The Connecting Communities Award 2026 goes to this outstanding community organisation.”

Congratulations and thank's go to all WANA Bee volunteers, supporters, and community members for helping to make our community stronger and more connected.  Strong communities are built on connection and the award is significant because it shines a light on the people who turn goodwill into lasting community action.  WANA recognised it was in excellent company at the gathering and sends hearty congratulations to everyone there including the Connecting Communities Award runners-up: 'Cosby Yarn Bomb' and 'Good Companions North Luffenham'.
