Company and Games: A Welcoming Space for Every Season

We’re delighted to see WANA Company and Games featured in this recent video released by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, highlighting the important role welcoming community spaces can play in bringing people together.

Company and Games, a partnership with Witherley United Football Club, is recognised as a Warm Spaces venue, offering people a friendly, comfortable place to spend time during the colder months. But the welcome doesn’t stop when winter ends!

Thanks to its popularity, Company and Games is open all year round, providing a relaxed and inviting space whatever the weather. During the warmer months, it becomes a refreshingly cool place to escape the heat, catch up with others, enjoy some company or simply take a little time out. With internet access available too, it’s also a useful place to stay connected.

Of course, there’s plenty of entertainment and opportunity to socialise, but Company and Games has grown into much more than that. We have also been able to provide support and welfare sessions, giving people access to helpful information, guidance and a friendly face when they need it.

One of the loveliest parts of the year is when children from our local primary school visit us from time to time. These visits bring generations together and create some wonderful shared experiences. From enjoying afternoon tea to taking part in maypole dancing, they bring plenty of smiles, conversation and a real sense of community spirit.

These moments are a reminder that spaces like Company and Games are about much more than having somewhere to go. They are about connection, friendship, support and belonging.

Whether you’re looking for warmth in winter, somewhere cool in summer, a little entertainment, some practical support or simply a friendly place to spend time, there’s a welcome waiting at the Football Club every Thursday from 1:30 pm til 3:30 pm.
