'Signage Asset Lead' for National Highways to take action

SIGNAGE AT THE JUNCTION OF BRIDGE LANE WITH A5 TO BE MODIFIED

WANA has received welcome news from our Member of Parliament that the National Highways Authority has now agreed to modify the signage it recently installed at the Bridge Lane junction.

National Highways had initially responded to WANA to say the signage had been inspected and deemed safe. This prompted our five-day survey: Ninety-six responses were received, with an average rating of 8 out of 10 for concerns and 78% of respondents rating concerns between 8 and 10. Alarmingly, the survey revealed that 83.2% of respondents reported obstructed views, and the same percentage felt at increased risk since the sign's installation.

WANA has shared these findings with the Authority and is committed to monitoring the situation closely to ensure appropriate measures are taken to address residents' concerns. We trust the issue will be resolved swiftly and efficiently. .
