WANA can report a Parish Council communication delivered to households in the Parish during week commencing 8 January 2024 contained inaccurate and misleading information..
The author of the 'Message' stated the intention to 'clarify' 'confusion' and 'misinformation' 'seeking to improve openness of the Council's service'.
Far from doing this, under various headers, misleading/false statements are made. These include a judge's decision, decisions taken by the Parish Council at its June 2023 meeting, and past actions of the Council concerning flooding and inspection and safety of park equipment
WANA worry not all residents will realise these statements are incorrect and has publicised its rebuttal.
Representations were made to Councillors at the January WPC Meeting held on 11th Jan. Concerns about confusion wreaked by the leaflets were echoed by a Fenny Drayton resident who attended the meeting.
WANA trust this fledgling council have the ability to improve not only its comprehension of the regulations pertaining to Parish Councils but in future will undertake a fact check prior to issuing statements
